Welcome to Bird And Moon dot com. I'm Rosemary Mosco, and this is the home of my science and nature comics, the 55 Word Stories online literary journal, and several other projects. Please enjoy and use this email address to send me any feedback or questions regarding projects or collaboration.

There's a new story at 55 Words and a new comic about mockingbirds in the comics section. Mockingbirds really do this. Argh.

There is a new story up at 55 Words. Please join in and contribute! Also, I finished my videogame for the Artsy Games Incubator, a project that tries to get artsy people making games and generally building an appreciation for the people who make them professionally. You can play my Albatross-themed game here. I'm an amateur, so it's a bit glitchy. (Solutions to the game's problems mean I'll draw you a nice bird!)

There's a new drawing called Parts of the Bird in the comics section. It's highly inaccurate.

I'll be heading down to the MoCCA Art fest in New York City from June 7-8. I'll have a ton of prints, books and other stuff for sale, along with a lot of talented friends from web and print comics. I'd love to see you!

We've finally recovered from getting hacked last week by random spammers, and 55 Words is back in order. Please submit your stories, and thanks so much for your patience. If you see anything out of the ordinary (like long lists of mp3 links that seem suspiciously not bird-themed!), please email me.

I have another comic in the Globe TO section of the newspaper The Globe and Mail. This one's about Cardinals!

March 17, 2008
Things have been a bit crazy over here, especially at 55 Words, because (as I mentioned below) the editor had to unexpectedly quit. Don't worry, I have a great new editor who's starting soon and will go through the backlog of all your great stories. Very sorry for the delay.
I've been taking part in Jim Munroe's Artsy Games Incubator, which aims to get artists making games using pre-existing software. You can read about our adventures on the blog. Birds for Bulbs is on a bit of a hiatus; more news coming soon. For now, you can check out some new Wild Toronto strips. Thanks for reading!

Been a long time since an update! There's lots of new stuff. I did the CD art for A.M.'s new CD. He's a great Toronto electronic artist. There's a new 55 word story. The editor for the journal at 55 words has had some stuff come up and can't do it any more, so many apologies for the hiatus that will ensue while I find a new person. There have been a few new Torontoist strips, too.

Jan. 8, 2008
Happy new year! There's a new poster pack for sale here. I've also started a new biweekly comic about urban wildlife at the blog Torontoist. You can see the strips here.

Dec. 10, 2007
A new animal comic can be found here. The animals are the violet-ear hummingbird, the corn snake, the green anole and the io moth.

Nov. 30, 2007
There's a new story at 55 Words. Also, a t-shirt based on Bird and Moon is in the works, probably for January. Last but not least, thanks to everyone who came to visit me at Expozine in Montreal! I had an awesome time.

Nov. 14, 2007
People have been asking about t-shirts. I'd love to make some, but I need to know which images you'd like to see on a shirt! Email me at rmosco (at) gmail (period) com and let me know. There's also a new story at 55 Words. I hope you like it!
The "Birds are Gross" comic was featured on Rocketboom. Thanks, guys!

There is new fan stuff in the Fan Section. Thanks for your patience in waiting for a birdsforbulbs update... I now have enough for a new page!

Nov. 3, 2007
There is a new story over at 55 Words. Thanks to everyone who dropped by to say hello at Canzine!

Oct. 18, 2007
If you are in Toronto, come visit me at the Canzine festival on Sunday, October 28. I will have lots of posters and books for sale.
Montrealers, come see me at Expozine on Saturday, November 24 and Sunday, November 25. Books, posters and my passable French will be there. I'd love to meet you!

There is a new short comic about Terror Birds in the comics section. Wikipedia has a good article about poor terror birds. How the mighty have fallen!

There is a new short comic called "Birds are Gross" in the comics section. You can also read a little interview with me over at MONDO Magazine.
